Credit fix companies are a dime a dozen. They make promises across the television set that for just $300 or $400 or maybe $500 you can repair your bad credit overnight. While the promises sound great and the reality is that anyone with bad credit would want to re-establish credit at the snap of a finger, most of those promises are a sham.

One woman shared what was more than mere frustration with a man who promised her an overnight fix. She was told that for only $400 -- $300 down and $100 remaining - that her credit would be fixed. Not that he would go through the process of disputing charges or that her credit report would be repaired in time. She was told that it would simply be taken care of, immediately. The problem was, the promises were made and then the man disappeared with the down payment.

When sharing her frustration she said, "$300 is pretty significant you know. I could've taken that and applied it to some of the things on my credit."

The woman's story is almost as familiar as the commercials on the television or the radio. In the process of repairing your credit, charges can be disputed and temporarily lifted. Without follow through, the improved credit is only temporary. If the charges are determined to be legitimate, they go right back on.

Attorneys will work with creditors and provide the follow through necessary to truly repair your credit score. They can provide you with the tools to help raise your credit number with the three credit reporting agencies.
